| We had some issue with these and they were limited. That's fine but would adding a second quote button for just the post and not the tree be helpful? Then when you hit the limit it would cut back on editing. |

Because the membership were too lazy, or weren't skilled enough to edit their quotes down. This was would lead to extremely large quotes. This reached a level that it became disruptive to the site. Of course there are some that complain about the change, as people hate change. |
