I know this might not be the right fourm but it is the only method for a quick awnser
since the Colt industry thread does not get much attention.

I am looking and have been looking for some time now for a new in box Colt match target
lower receiver.
Has anyone ever bought just the lower, or a better question is do they make them for sale
anymore.

Thanks in advance and all replys are appreciated, Cowboy

I don't know, but I would be curious to find out for sure. Colt is such a mercurial company, what is true today might not be tomorrow. As far I as know, Colt does not just sell the just the lower reciever, complete guns only.

I would contact Colt directly, and find out from them what is or isn't. From what I understand on the website is that they are quit busy building guns for the USA military, and everything else is taking a backseat.

Try these guys -

I don't know if they have any now, but they have in the past and I say it's likely they have some now.  Be prepared to pay exhilirating prices.

They are/have been for sale. Get a recent copy of The Gunlist or Shotgun News. There should be some in there. IMHO, they are not worth what they charge and they are no better than any other forged lower.

SAW sells Colt lowers

Not sure if that includes the match target or not

You need to call them, however since the lowers arent listed in the parts section

wasn't there a thread here last year about saw pretty much washing their hands of civillian sales? or was that someone else?

Ken Elmore at SAW can be opinionated and abrasive, but he's a good guy.  A bunch of people here whined at him about how he should appreciate them more, and he told them where to stick it.  Exactly what I would expect from Ken.  I have bought parts from him with no problems, and would buy a lower from him if I needed another.  He is a very good source for Colt factory parts, just don't expect him to kiss your backside or call you 'your majesty', as some folks around here want vendors to do.
