I'm thinking of using the 1' stick on tiles in my kitchen over an existing layer of the same tiles.  This is not, I repeat, this is not a lifetime lasting project.  We will rebuild our house in the next 2-3 years, but we have to make this change.  The tiles are in relatively good condition, not peeling, etc.

Question: What is the best way to "rough up" the existing layer to enhance adhesion of the new?  Deglosser? Sander?

Any other tips appreciated.

Repeat one more time, we do not expect this to last more than a few years.

Thanks in advance.

Don't think you're supposed to use any thing to rough up the existing tiles like sanding or anything.

You may want to strip any wax that's on them if you've ever waxed them before.

Thanks, TOH recommended that we use a "Deglosser," which is essentially a stripper to take the glossy layer off of the top.  These tiles have never been waxed regularly and are "deglossed" already.

Change the pattern, ie don't match the seams. perhaps common sense, but just in case... ;)
