| How often do you really use it? I use them at work for filming tests, etc., so I am familiar with their capabilities and quality but does the average owner really get their money's worth from it? |
| Every time I feel I'm going to be doing something interesting enough to bring it (lately though thats just simple sky time lapses because I'm housebound for a while), I'm notoriously heavy handed and I refuse to baby any of my stuff so the gopro works well for me. I wasn't too sure about the gopro when I got my first one so I just went with the standard HERO to see if I got on with it and upgraded in the future. |

We've used it a good bit on the wakeboard and water skis. Good video and some great still shots from the tip of a ski.
Also did some roller coasters at Disney in 2012. I'm not certain but I think their policy on allowing this might have changed. We stopped using it on the water ski though - the tip of a water ski actually vibrates a lot and while the video wasn't so bad it did cause the think to unclip and fly up roughly 20 ft in the air whizzing past the face of the skier. |

I use for my kids events, hunting trips, and sometimes when running my trap lines.
Just used it for an alligator hunt with my Dad. Saw lots of them just couldn't get hooked up. But having the GoPro helped a lot in recording the time and activity with my aging father. I would say yes I get my money's worth from it. |

I love my go pro. Bought it at the beginning of summer. Used it a lot. Filmed my kids at the pool, river, shooting range. Attached it to my rifle with the sportsman mount. Plan on attaching it to my fishing pole in a few weeks with the same mount. Best part about it I think are its underwater shots. Gave it to my kids and they took many cool underwater shots. Well worth the money IMO. GoPro Hero 4 silver. |

Bought one that met it's end while white water kayaking on the main salmon river a few years ago. Bought another one to take with me to hawai and kauai for snorkeling etc. Brought it home and then realize it was just sitting, now I take it with me to idpa etc and get to watch my match screw ups over and over. |

I used mine just a little while ago to shoot this:

I use it during autocross and karting every run... so basically every week or two it gets a good using. ETA I've also strapped it to my rc car a few times
If you don't plan on using it much, the knock off Xiaomi Yi cameras are actually quite good. Get the camera and case for ~$100 (case is sold separately) works with all the regular gopro mounts: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UFFPRJO |

I have 3 I've found this year including 2 GoPro 4s, never use them. Played with them, but really have no use for them.
Found them all while diving, it's amazing the things people lose around docks and marinas. Sold one last week for $250, money is going toward my new Kayak. |

And that is why I have a text file on the SD card with my contact information. Its a long shot, but in the case the safety lanyard and floaty door fails at the same time, I can count on the honesty of a complete stranger to ensure the return of my camera. Quoted:

Yeah, I do try to find a contact on the pics and videos, if folks would even take time to tag their camera I'd do my best to get it back to them. Must have found at least 20 working cameras over the past couple of years. |

Not often enough.
I built a mount to attach it anywhere on my bumpers or rock sliders on my offroad truck. Same mount came in really handy when trying to diagnose a rear end noise in same truck, allowed me to see the drivetrain and suspension in motion from in the cab (wifi to my ipad). I have also strapped it to my RC car and chased the dags around with it. I do want to make a dag harness for some dogcam, squirrel chasing action. Mostly it sits in my desk drawer collecting dust since I haven't had time to offroad. |

Have a 4 Silver.
Bought it and a bunch of accessories. Works well, but I'd be better off with a conventional cam. Most dangerous thing I've done with it was hide it on a shelf and activate it with my iPad when the wife unit was eating and ragging on me after I purposely set her off. She does not like to play Candid Camera. I need to get rid of it before I mount it on the bike and go do something stupid.

Was fun at first, but I simply don't do the stuff that YouTube masses wanna watch. I use my smartphone and DSLR much more often |

I bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010LUU3Y6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 The video is acceptable. The still pics, well, lets just say I'll keep using my Cell phone or the other camera I have for that. |

I'm just here to see what you guys do with them. I bought a Faux-Pro recently, to film my Jeep rides. I can't come up with a reason to pay $400 for one. I figure if I really like it, I can always get a real one. But if I don't use it much, well, I'm out $36. Even the entry-level GoPro's are $130. |
