This quote is from Lincoln's First Inaugural Address in 1861: "This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing Government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." How many here feel that America can still be salvaged by political means, and how many feel that that time is past, and it is only a matter of time until revolutionary rights must be excercised? |
Please Explain. |

Yes we live in the best country on the face of the Earth however we have been on a slippery slope for some time President Bush needs to be true to the Base of voters that got him elected and Secure our Borders The Minuteman go down to the Arizona out of frustration and the best he can come up with is to call them Vigilantes I voted for George Bush twice but I knew he was gonna bumble the whole Illegal Alien / Border issue I called him a Liberal on Domestic Issues last year If Bush is the best that the Republicans have to offer we 're in trouble |
| Somebody always thinks doomsday is right around the corner. For a lot of people it would be their wet dream to have a civil war. Then they would realize war sucks and would want it to go back to how it was. Quit talking about force of arms and start talking about what you can do to save it w/o arms. |
If you are going to quote me at least quote me correctly. I said DEMAND good politicians. As in vote in primaries. Get involved. Run yourself if need be. |
I mean that would be great and all but I don't see that happening, especially with our two party system. Running myself? I would need a good deal of money and then almost have to go to one of the two parties. Politcians make choices based on getting re-elected. edit: im not saying we are going to civil war, just that politicians suck |
