1) What is considered to be the "firearm" with an AUG ? As they have serial numbers on three parts. 2) If you said the Upper Receiver; then answer me this ? How do you sell or transfer a Special Receiver - which has NO serial number ? My friend has one that wants to sell for a pretty penny and he's not sure how. It has NO numbers anywhere . I told him i'd ask the experts ....normally AUGs have the serial number on the shown right front corner.

It is your upper receiver that is the "gun". There is some good info here: AUG - There were NO factory special receiver AUG's imported as complete rifles with matching numbers. They are ALL parts guns. - There were 1,250 AUG Special Receivers imported, all were sold as "AUG Receiver Only" Serial numbers were as E001 & also GSISA001 . So given those two things, the serial on your other parts would not be the receiver serial number unless they were made to match. |

Typically it's going to be the receiver only. The rest are just there for show. Lots of guns have serialized barrels, etc.---but they aren't controlled. |

Since that receiver was imported after 1968, it has a serial # on it somewhere. Unless your friend (or a friend) made it here in the US. Or the serial was defaced and it's contraband. Those are the only possibilities. Likely it's #1 and he just needs to look it over more carefully. |

Europe serializes barrel and upper receiver as well as frame. All numbered parts are tracked in Europe. |
