I have a couple of sealed battle packs of ammo . Woundering if I would be better off leaving them in battle packs or if I should remove them and store them in ammo cans with dessicant ?
I live in southern La where heat and humidity is high in summer time . I also stor most of my ammo in non climaate controlled area .
Any advise in this matter would be appriciated .

If they are already sealed, I would leave them sealed.

If the battlepack is not damaged, I usually keep the ammo in the battlepack, in the original wooden case, if possible.

There could be minute air leaks, but for me that is not an issue because it's dry here.

To be 100% sure, the best bet is to remove them from the battlepack and store them in .50CAL cans with a good desiccant. Maybe a 2-unit pack.

get some of the 40mm grenade cans that open on both ends, full unopened pack fits in  that
