Many in the early 19th century died of this disease/epidemic. What would we call this disease today? DaMan

Consumption is what they called Tuberculosis in the mid-late 1800s. Doc Holliday died of "consumption". I'm not sure if Tuberculosis was what they meant by "putrid fever". DaMan

"Putrid fever" was an old name for typhoid fever.
