I have 2 EU2000i Honda generators that I converted to run off propane using the US Carb snorkel kits..

Today was maintenance day so i fired them up to get the oil hot before changing it..

It took +30 pulls before it fired the first time using propane.  The last time they were run it was with propane as well.

Im guessing that my issue is that the generator suction is what is pulling the propane to the carb and its just taking a while for the propane to fill the 12' of hose, regulator on the generator, and to get to the carb..

is there anyway to help speed getting the propane to carb?  The manual said to NOT use the 'primer' button on the regulator or it will flood the engine..

Any thoughts or suggestions

the EU has an ON / OFF switch - I believe that its tied into the fuel pump

I have the same kit as you, but on a Champion generator.  My manual states to use the primer button.  The number of times you push it will vary depending on the engine.

It's a demand regulator, and gas won't flow until the engine creates vacuum, which you seem to be doing over 30 pulling strokes.  I also have the same Honda as you, but I left that one gas only.  I assume you are at least turning the control switch to the on position, right?

Just push the primer a few times for a half second each.  You'll smell gas once it gets there, but like you said, it needs to flow through the hose, etc.  The tank regulator won't let gas flow until something is sucking on it, or allowing it to flow in some way.  Pulling the recoil cord is only tugging on the demand diaphram in little tiny bits, hence the primer button, which pushes on the diaphram manually.
