Correct, cage is incomplete. I just started on it today, and didn't have all the supplies I needed. It will be set up properly very soon.

Today Monty took his first poop since I got him, and it was bigger than my dog's poop.

Why so tall?

It's a stereo cabinet that I bought from a guy through craigslist for only $20, and it makes a great cage. I used to take console TVs apart and use them for cages, but that's far more work and not as much space.

I have my 6'5" Tall x 2' wide x 2' Deep (pictured to the left.) It used to house 4 White's Tree Frogs, but currently houses a yellow amazon tree boa. The link below was the steps I used to decorate my enclosure.

Waste of space. Should turn the cage on its side since ball pythons are not arboreal.

No room, plus he spends lots of time climbing.

by the looks of it i figured you had an emerald tree boa...then mr ball python shows up.  That is a very sweet setup!  I think I might try that for my columbian boa.

Still not done yet, because I haven't found the exact parts I'm looking for. Here's some pics of the progress so far:

I cut a hole in the top, cut a similar hole in one of the shelves that came out of the cabinet, then sandwiched some 1/4" hardware cloth in between;

Here it is with the infra red night bulb;

I'm going to put a receptacle on top to plug in the lights, so I'll have only one cord to plug into the wall receptacle. I haven't done this yet, but I did put the work light together;

The water dish would sweat and get the bottom wet, so I put it on a pad made for dog dishes and covered the rest of the bottom with cedar chips.
I put one of the shelves back in place, and ran screws through from the outside so it can't flip.
I cut the ladder to fit underneath, and screwed it to the back.
I got a disposable cat litter box, cut a couple holes for entrances, then put it in upside down for a cave. I screwed it down to the shelf;

I put both lights on top; the infra red bulb and a 60w incandescent. Two pics of just those lights, then one with the flash;

I put Monty back in, and let him explore his home makeover;

I haven't seen him come out of his little cave deal yet.

Cool.

Good for you for actually putting some work into it and doing it for yourself instead of going out and buying some prefab chicom shit.

Now that he put the shelf in it, it is a lot better.
