Firefox 3.6 to be exact.  Using Windows 7 Home 64bit.   Rather than try to describe the problem, I'll show you.

After closing out FF.  If I try to reopen the browser, I get the error message shown.  It can hang like that for some time if I let it.

I have to shut it down with the task manager.

Solutions on Google are inconclusive.  Has anyone had this issue and solved it?

My other problem is I don't have the rifle shown in the background.  I'm working on that one.  That could take some time.

Thanks
ZM

FF takes a little time to shut down, but shouldnt take that much.  Are you running any addons?

I got tired of screwing with it.  I booted into the Linux Mint 8 x64 side of my computer.

The problem hasn't shown up in the Linux OS.

Since there is no football tomorrow, I'll give that a try.

Do I need to remove the files in the Program Files" and/or the registry?

FWIW, I back up my bookmarks every couple of weeks or so.  Just for the heck of it.
Thanks guys for the responses.

I did the uninstall in add and remove programs and then went and deleted the folder. Then just went to the site and downloaded a full version and its worked great ever since.

Try disabling all your plugins and see if it starts working better. If so, then turn them back on one at a time.

I uninstalled and reinstalled FF 3.6.

Deleted the folders in the Programs Files.

We'll see how it goes.

Fuck it.  I give up.  Firefox is getting kicked into third place on the browser depth chart.

I'm trying a new browser.  It doesn't have this problem.
