What kind and how often do you use yours?
Not sure if I would use it often enough to warrant buying one.
Won't buy at Walmart......
Looking at either Lowe's or Home Depot.

Get the free one.
Nah check craigslist and the like. I actually got my 400 dollar one on the sears outlet website and paid like 110. I was lucky that they were local because they wouldnt ship.

I've got a Kärcher that I've owned for 10+ years.

use it about 2-3x / year.

the only thing on it that doesn't work so great is the siphoning of soap out of the container mounted on the pump.

other than that, no problems.

I don't know but my BIL's I just borrowed wouldn't even take much off the deck I tried to use it on yesterday. I don't know if it's the pressure or the tip. 2,500 PSI and it had 2 tips, general duty and maximum. The maximum was too narrow and just damaged the wood. The general sort of took off the weathered look.

It depends on what you are going to use it for and how often.  Some of the best "prosumer" grade models have CAT pumps and Honda engines but those aren't cheap at all.  I had a $250 Troy Bilt from Lowes that had a Honda engine and I used the shit out of it (washing ATV, SxS, trailers, buildings, driveway, porch, etc) for about 4 years.  Pump locked up on me and it was going to cost too much to fix it.  I ended up buying a Generac "prosumer" grade and its a monster.  Doesn't start as easy as the Honda but it has some powa!

Just make sure it has a Honda GX engine and a triplex pump.

Technically, the other guy didn't buy one at Wal-Mart either!

What do you want to do with the pressure washer?

I bought a Troy-bilt last year at Lowe's.   It has the Honda engine and I think 3200 PSI.

It did a great job taking all the mold and crap off my bricks and algae off my deck.

I have a Karcher and i just bought a Husqvarna for $700.00 the $100.00 Karcher cleans the concrete like new. My buddy has a business with a $10,000 machine and I don't see much difference in the Karcher and he uses hot water. I'm sure there's a difference but not enough for me.
