The wife and I will be headed to Houston tomorrow to begin a Invitro Fertilization process. Tomorrow harvesting of her eggs will be done. God willing we will have 2 embryos implanted Saturday. We have been trying for three years now. We can use all the prayers the forum will send! Good luck brother! Hopefully it'll happen for you! If not, don't rule out adoption. |

You have our prayers for IVF to work for you two.
Going to extreme measures to have a child is almost an act of desperation and yet it's a true act of commitment to wanting to have a child. I truly hope it works for the two of you, because even after you accept the realization that it isn't going to work for you and you think you're okay with not having kids in your life, it still comes back and hurts. For us these days it's not feeling as bad about not having our own kids, it's when everyone is getting to play with their grandkids that's causing the feelings of regrets. But you guys are fortunate to be doing this at this point in time. IVF is almost routine where 25 years ago it was still a rarity. We have a niece who recently did IVF for a second time and some web friends who did as well. Both couples recently had successful deliveries of healthy babies. Have to say I'm envious, because IVF didn't work for us and turning to a surrogate was just too much for our finances to handle, if the wife would agree with it. Again, our prayers go out to you on this and I'm hoping to read a post by you in a few months to celebrate the process being a success. |
