Before anybody gets torqued...It is my opinion that American Indians are being used by The Mob/Government to create profit for gangsters at the expense of the general public. Hands off the Indians! If you really want to make reparations then do it right!

They did the same thing when I went Scottsdale C.C. for a few semesters.

I am thinking of going to Ben Avery Shooting Range on Saturday.  Anyone else?

Indians really piss me the hell off!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, why does the govt have a Bureau of Indian Affairs? Do they have a Bureau of black/White/Latino/whatever Affairs?

How do the Indians get to keep all that land in their tribes? As I recall, when an entity lost a war they also lost the right to make the rules & set the boundries. Hell, England could make the claim that they were victimized in the Revolutionary War & War of 1812 & want North America back.

Why do Indians get to claim all this Native American crap when anyone born in the US is a NATIVE American?

Why hasn't anyone told them to go piss up a rope & get a job like the rest of us????

Hmmm, all of that is fine and dandy, goody goody PC stuff, but GOD FORBID we name a high school or college sports team after them.  Tee pees on campus OK, teams named redskins, etc. etc. BAD.  Go figure.  Can you imagine the outrage if one of those highs school or college teams put Tee pees and did ceremonial or cultural stuff on the field at halftime! Now that would be a different story I'm sure.

GOOD GOD.  Stupid people and political correctness will be the destruction of this counrty.

This is going to piss a lot of u off, but that is your problem not mine.  The thing that sets the various tribes apart from other minorities in this nation is that the gummint signed treaties with them as part of ending hostilities and drawing boundaries.  In effect, this gives them something of the status of sovereign nations.  Our gummint, ('sprise!) then proceeded to not live up to the very treaties that they had often forced on the tribes.  Not everything they claim is true, but the things the Indians bitch about are not entirely w/o merit.

Because... we signed a treaty with them?

Seeing how the rest of the USA got 99.5% of the land that was originally theirs, I don't begrudge them the 0.5% they have left.  In fact, I'd like to see the reservations gain more sovereignty so they wouldn't be subject to all the obnoxious laws that the rest of us must endure.

We have the BIA, and various Indian groups get to keep their lands, because we had binding treaties with them. We did not go to war with every Indian group we encountered, and some of those groups we did fight with, we were in the wrong. We broke treaties.

I don't agree with the PC crap, but the way treated and handled many of the "Indian" situations in the 19th Century was wrong. I also do not agree with the way they treat the memory and legacy of the US Army units who fought bravely to secure the frontier. The demonization of Custer in particular riles me. I read his book "Life on the Plains." Custer was very sympathetic to the Indians. He did not think that they were sub-human or savages, his personal theory is that they were one of the "lost" tribes of Israel, and should be respected greatly. He also said that if the situation were reversed, he would fight the US for invading his land and he disagreed strongly with how the government treated them and broke treaties. He was also a soldier, though, and followed what he perceived to lawful orders.

I work for Indians. I live near an indian settlement. Last night I saw a shirt that had my laughing my ass off. It was yellow with images of warriors on the front. Around them it said... "My heros have always killed cowboys"

Thats funny.

I'm from OKLAHOMA (indidan country).   I was in Annapolis 5 yrs ago on business and the hostess, 20 yr old Boston College student on break @ the resturaunt asked me where I was from. "u talk funny". I said I was from Oklahoma.  She asked what we were known for and my reply was Indians.  She corrected me by saying that they were Native Americans.  My comment was yes they are and so am I.  But if you call my indian friends native americans they would kick your ass.  I think she was in shock.  However she did give her phone number to my friend.  I told her he was 1/8 indian.  I guess she wanted to experience some of the culture first hand.

I have a lot of respect for Native Americans. They have perfected the art of not working for a living. Anybody that can accomplish that has my utmost and sincere respect.

Because there's a shortage of assholes like yourself Bob.

Is there anything wrong with displays of cultural heritage?  Personally, I think it would be cool to have seen the stuff that Sinistral saw.

Take your race debate and cram it.  Indians are a different class of people, they technically owned the country and they have been getting the shaft ever since we arrived.  I'm not saying to give the land back, but I am saying that if you think that the Indian Day is a problem, that you need to reevaluate St. Patricks day, Columbus day and the great American day of July 4th.

Never?  Oh yeah, thats because they have pride.

Sports Illustrated ran a survey a few months ago about this, ONLY surveying Indians/"Native Americans".  75% of them LIKED having sports teams named after them.  I forget what the percentage of pissed-off leftist victim-politics idiots was, but it was pretty small.

They're just noisy because the media loves to beat the race drum.

"Asshole"? I wish you were close enough to have the balls to say that to my face. I strongly bet you'd change your manners.

"Technically owned the country"? They didn't own squat. They lived a nomadic life, roaming from area to area foraging for food.

"Different class of people"? BS. They're no better nor no worse than any white trailer trash or society snob.

"Indian Day"? Never heard of such a thing.

"getting the shaft"? Who hasn't in one form or another throughout  our history? Signs reading "No Irish Need Apply" have been well documented.

"Race debate"? I have no race debate. Strange that you have no reply to the need for a Bureau of Indian Affairs whereas there's no Bureau of Black/Latino/whatever Affairs?

You wish to call people you've never met names? Pity you don't try that in the real world.

Actually i agree with some of what AIM says. I beleive Leonard Peltier should be freed. They do however need to drop the lame temper-tantrum of sports team names. You dont see western white guys complaining about there being the Cowboys football team. or how about militia men complaining about the Patriots. [:D][:D]yak yak yak

Months ago i got a couple of letters from some supposed Native American Group asking for money because its White mans fault they have a drinking problem. WHAT INSANITY!!! it made me  almost furious that people who have pride in their culute and way of life as a people would resort to asking a white man for money because its my fault they have a drinking problem and wreck their vehicles. i was going to write back and give them a piece of my mind, but they would just take one look at it and toss it into the trash. why?-no check inside.

Indians have always and do now love to smile.  They are a loving and kind people. They are no different than the Americans and Russians and any other people that have let their life get much mottled by alcohol.

When we first arrived here they kept us from getting rickets by showing use how to grow onions, they should probably just as well disposed us with arrows and the club.

As we didn't have anthrax at the time we just nuked them with smallpox.  They are a proud people ,survivalist teach them to live off and with the land.  They can teach you something there.

What do para-chutest yell when they jump?   What do you name an eliete chopper (does the name Apache,black-hawk)  If you want to be a ranger, then if you could be an Apache then I would say yes they were the first rangers living off anything they could live on.

The Indians just set back with the knowledge that even the mountain can not live forever, and the white-eyes will not want to take all the rivers and lands of the people.

Bob cole of tnn are you afro-American?  Just wondering as there is NAACP,AIM,WASP, and many other organizations  for the advancements of many peoples.

We didn't bring the Indians here in wooden boats, they were here and we came in wooden boats to conquer them, along with the axtecs.ect

I have viet-namise friends,Indian(native and imported)They talk really funny to me and they think my oklahoma accent is really hard to understand but they also speak french, which I find as annoying as my okie.

I'm half french and 1/4 dutch, 1/4 Irish. If I could be just one breed i'm sure I would be happy to be FBI Full Blooded Indian.
