Police Shoot, Kill Tame Deer POSTED: 3:02 pm EDT May 25, 2007 UPDATED: 5:54 pm EDT May 25, 2007 HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- Whitetail was part of the neighborhood. Residents of the Middlebrook Estates subdivision fed the small deer by hand. She frolicked in their yards. Residents have stacks of pictures of their kids nuzzling and petting the tame deer. Now she is dead; shot and killed by a police officer in a terrible misunderstanding. Babysitter Called Police Whitetail had been visiting houses in the neighborhood since January after her mother was hit and killed by a car. Just about everyone in the area knew she was gentle. But earlier this week a babysitter unfamiliar with the deer was upset when she saw Whitetail approaching several children. She was afraid the children were in danger. She called 911. A Henry County police officer who responded to the call shot and killed the deer. Residents are angry. They feel the incident could have been handled without killing Whitetail. Police officials said they had no way to know the deer was tame. Department of Transportation workers picked up Whitetails body before any of the neighbors realized what had happened. original story

It's a fucking DEER. If you're afraid an animal is aggressive, then chase it away or bring the kids indoors. Obviously since it didn't attack anyone in the fifteen or twenty minutes it took for the cops to show up, it isn't hostile. And if the animal wasn't a danger (i.e. acting aggressively, actually attacking, etc.) why shoot it? I swear, people these days are fucking idiots. I'll be glad when WWIII finally kicks off and all the dumbasses get vaporized. The intelligent, responsible people will have prepared for emergencies and will rise from the ashes to restore civilization to its former glory, thereby forestalling the downslide into stupidity. Any surviving idiots will either die from their own stupidity or get shot by those of us who have given up tolerating morons. |
