I keep seeing these posts of how much you'd spend on a pet. Do people not realize that pet insurance is actually pretty cheap, especially if you have a younger dog when you get the policy. It's saved me a fortune over the years with Steve, and I'll have it for every pet from now on.
Not blaming those who don't have it, but don't understand why you wouldn't want it. |
| We are about to get some for our pets. Spent $1600 on one of the cats. $700.00 on one of the dogs broken teeth 2 weeks ago. $400.00 on the other cat's stopped up butthole. Not to mention all the normal checkups and visits. We figured we spend about $2000 per pet per year at the moment. Getting too expensive |

Because insurance drives up the cost of things. Do you think Lasix would only be a couple grand if insurance covered it? The couple grand would be your cost, on top of the premiums you pay. I pay 20 something a month, and it saves me a LOT of money...I'm ok with that. Just like I have insurance for my own healthcare. |

How do the claims work? |

I've had VPI for ~15 years, since I got Steve. I've had no problems with claims, and every Vet I've been to accepts them. Quoted:

I use VPI they've saved my assistant more than once. I've had VPI for ~15 years, since I got Steve. I've had no problems with claims, and every Vet I've been to accepts them. I just put it on a card and get reimbursement within a couple weeks. |
