Anyone in to it? How about starting a ring here? I think it'd be cool to get started but I won't have any patches of my own to trade in return for some time.  I've got other stuff though. |
| I have been a California collector for years and belong to the California Law Enforcement Historical Society. I have traded and sold patches. Most of the patches you can buy are authentic. The "rare" ones are the ones you have to be worried about. They are reproduced and sold as authentic. |

I didn't realize how frequently departments receive requests until I looked into this. It's a good thing so many of them participate.

My patch collection has been gradually stapled to black foam board. No specific order other than the order in which I get them, and I try to keep multiple patches from the same agency (specialized units, I have 4 from NYPD) in the same general area.
