She grew up in my hometown and went to high school with my sister, back before she changed her name to Benatar from Andrzejewski . My sister said she was surprised that Pat made it big because she was into a more "operatic" style of singing then. Benatar was her married name with her first husband. She kept it as her stage name because she'd already hit it big as Benatar with her first song when they split up. I recall an interview she did with Rolling Stone in the early 80s where she said she had to completely re-learn to sing in a rock style because of her earlier training. |

I remember in High School in the late 70's and early 80's chicks used to dress like her. A few of them were smoking hot. Virtually every "kid" movie from 1980-1990 had a token Pat Benatar character somewhere in the script. And when I was hitting the clubs in the early-80's, there was always at least one girl dressed in the Pat Benatar uniform. Her daughter has an entirely different physique. http://www.lemuseumdebenatar.com/glo.html |
| A little before my time but I remember rock was making a comeback from '80 (The Knack) till about '83 when Michael Jackson and Madonna and Prince basically made FAG popular again. (Fag having been popular in the disco era.) too bad it would stay that way till Nirvana. C'est le vie. |

Another singer from the same era that has kept my interest, Tom Petty.

Too bad he's pals with Al Gore and the rest of the libtard crew. |
