Your and You're. These words are taught in elementary school. If you do not know how to use them in a sentence, please look it up. |

My brother is an amateur author. He writes science fiction, and sells short stories to magazines and whatnot.
So one Christmas, when we were all staying at mom and dad's place, I saw that he'd left his laptop logged on. So I snuck in and changed his autocorrect settings in Word (or Open Office or whatever). Every time he'd type "your" it would automatically switch to "you're." And vice versa. Every time he'd type "their" it would switch to "they're" and every time he'd type "they're" it would switch to "there" and... Every time he'd end a word with "s" it would automatically add an apostrophe before the "s." Every grammar mistake you can hate on... his novel was full of it. Like ten thousand words before he noticed. |
