Vids make it look like fed #1 saw protester’s gun, fed #2 reached over and removed the protester’s gun. Fed #1 saw that gun leave the holster and didn’t know whos hand it was, panicked, and dumped 5 or so rounds into the back of the protester who was on his hands and knees with 4 guys piled on top of them. It’s amazing there wasn’t any friendly fire. Edit: Stabilized possibly up scaled video posted below shows protester’s gun did in fact go off in an agent’s hand. |

There are videos explaining this theory, and it seems pretty solid. Pretti's gun discharged first, but after it had already been taken from him. The other agents reacted to the shots. The question then becomes why Pretti's gun discharged. Resolution sucks, but it looks like the agent is holding it with his hand completely below the trigger guard. The quote from WSJ suggests Trump may also think/know something along these lines. |

Take this for what it’s worth (which is pretty much nothing), but my gut tells me Trump would not be talking about the reputation of the P320 the day after the incident, if it didn’t play a role in the event. He’s not a gun guy. Someone advised him of this for some reason. |
| That video posted above looks like the agent didn't have his finger in the trigger guard, as there is a lot of grip exposed below the slide. This could only happen if the entire hand was gripping the pistol below the trigger guard. I have no idea how it "went off". It wasn't dropped. Can 320s go off from shaking or movement? |

The power of suggestion and confirmation bias is real. People saw it was a P320, assumed it discharged, then worked backwards trying to find anything to support that position. Not saying it didn't go off, but that video is not clear enough to tell definitively. I'm leaning 60/40 that it did not discharge. |
