I did have the privilege once of watching a squirrel on a power line. Just doing his thing until he stepped wrong I guess. Big blue flash, and power went off in the house. I walked over to the pole and my neighbor asked what happened. He was a lot less charred than I thought he would be.

I saw the aftermath of a squirrel, all that was left was 1 single very charred bone

It actually knocked the power out in the office park we were in

When I was a kid about two thousand grackles landed on the powerline in front of our house. The weight of the birds made the top wire sag and touch the ground wire. The field was covered in black birds.

Here is a real vid. you have probably seen it, flying bunny.

I saw a seagull get popped by lightning once. Big explosion of feathers. We were coming back from fishing and pulling into the dock right when it struck a tall power pole and zapped the thing.

We had a pigeon land on a substation insulator at the plant where I worked. Made a big bang, scattered scorched feathers everywhere, took out one phase, and put most of the machinery offline for several hours.
