[ARCHIVED THREAD] - P320 - It really should end today. (Page 1 of 5)

This should put an end to the debate. Look at 0:12 seconds. Watch over and over if you need to (I did). It might look like it at first glance, but his hand is NOT pressing down on the grip. His thumb is hooked in his pocket behind the gun. These really do just go off.![]() Guard says SIG P320 fired unexpectedly at USAA Guard Gate |

The apologists will be here soon to tell you it was his jacket string, lint in the holster, his keys did it, his handcuffs did it, he hadn’t cleaned it, or hadn’t cleaned it the right way, or used the wrong disassembly procedure, etc. It’s basically pitbull bingo at this point. |

Wonder how many Bryan is sitting on |
| I'm convinced now that the rigid duty holsters are creating a situation like the youtubers had shown bc the slides are held firmly while the butt/frame is getting torqued hard while getting out of cruisers, getting up from sitting, crouching, etc. Then just the right bump causes the sear to slip. Still something that Sig should have accounted for when pitching a gun for mil and LE duty use where they would be secured in very rigid holsters in high activity environments. I've broken a grip frame on a polymer duty pistol before stepping off a heavy truck and bumping into a forklift. I'm 225 which is probably the weight of the average LEO. This is exactly the kind of thing the engineering team should factor into design of a duty pistol. |

Quoted: That's not a good look. I genuinely do not understand how there are still people who vehemently deny there is anything going on with these guns. A lot of people think the Sig Sauer of today is the same Sig Sauer of the ‘80s and fail to see the difference between German quality that sells itself and Indian filled shit that relies on bro vet lifestyle branding and low bidding in military trials to convince people to buy it. |

Are you serious? Are we looking at the same thing? It looks pretty clear his hand was on the grip applying downward force. Attached File Attached File You can even see that as the pistol discharges, it opens up his grip. Now, why isn’t there video of what he was doing in the guard shack prior to exiting? Was he fucking with it? Just starting shift and had just holstered it? If someone has extended video, I’m curious. |
Found it sent 11/18, at what price do we start neck bearding sig 320's![]() Attached File |

Quoted: LOL, you guys are in denial or blind, his hand was clearly putting pressure on the pistol grip. ![]() Hardly an endorsement, think about the pressure on the grip when sitting in a vehicle, at least the same amount. My old G ride had a wore out area on my seat from rubbing. |

Lol, there's a guy on the last page or 2 of the big thread arguing some of these exact things on this exact incident They can't help themselves. |

Quoted: Hardly an endorsement, think about the pressure on the grip when sitting in a vehicle, at least the same amount. My old G ride had a wore out area on my seat from rubbing. Exactly. The amount of times I’ve bumped guns on my belt, had to move my belt, got on my stomach with AIWB holster etc. is countless. The various guns I’ve carried include a Colt Government, A Browning Hi Power, a Glock 19, a Springfield Hellcat, a Walther P99 and a Beretta 92. None of these have ever gone off from getting smacked, dropped or pressure applied to them. I’ve never carried a P320, and I’m sure as shit am not going to start if “applying” pressure is enough to risk it firing. |

Do I need to recalibrate my meter? ![]() If you properly holstered it, you’re right. But if you just haphazardly jam it in without making sure it’s clear, then the pistol isn’t properly secured in the holster. It’s a quarter or half inch shy of locking in because something is hanging up on the trigger. You casually rest your hands on the grip, applying downward force, which translates to upward force on the snagged trigger and *bang*. I feel like people are being intentionally ignorant. The failure mode and root cause are pretty clear to me. Hint: it has nothing to do with stacking tolerances, MIM, gremlins, or magic. ETA: I’d love to see the holster. I’m curious to see if it looks like this one: Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Quoted: they might as well design and start retro fitting a thumb safety to these things. They're available with a thumb safety. The thumb safety doesn't prevent this from happening because it doesn't block the sear. There are documented examples of Sig Roulette Surprises happening with guns holstered and the manual safety engaged. |
