I buy the kind that has the big label that says No Fish Burps. No, I am not kidding. Go to Target.

Buy the tier 1 fish oil.

The Members Mark brand at Sam's club has never given me the fishy aftertaste.  And that brand got positive reviews and tested negative for mercury.

I bought some Fish Oil/Flaxseed Oil and it constipates me. No ill burps though

Try this one out:

No fishy burps at all. You can find it for about 50% off MSRP online from various vendors.

[#6]
Look at the plant=based alternatives. Some, like hemp oil, have a better balance of EFA's. More expensive though.

Fishy aftertaste, lmao! Too easy...

I wish I had known about the "No Fish Burps" (also hilarious in nature) before I stocked up.

I take Nature Made...don't know about the mercury thing mentioned earlier, but I don't burp fish!
The pills themselves are kind of huge though.

I call it "Fish Lube"

I have the no aftertaste kind.

Now my cats have lost interest in me.

Mentioned earlier.  Get the plant based.  Its made from Olive, Flax and another type of plant oil.  No fishy taste at all.  Typically will be found in stores that cater to vegans and vegetarians.  Our Natural Food Co-op carries it.

Look for the label to say that it has an "enteric coating".  This keeps the pill from dissolving too soon in your digestive system and giving you that wonderful fish belch.

[#22]
I've taken 3 caplets daily for months now, never had fish burps.

Are you taking them on an empty stomach?
2/11/2011 2:57:59 PM EDT
[#23]
We buy that Mega Red krill oil pills.  Added bonus is they are tiny and easy to swallow.  NO fish taste.
2/11/2011 2:59:40 PM EDT
[#24]
I buy OmegaBrite. No bad after taste or nasty burps, but but it's freakin EXPENSIVE!

Or you can eat salmon and supplement daily with flax seed oil...

You're probably taking rancid oil.  Eat sardines and canned "wild caught" salmon.

There are fish oil pills out there that don't give the fishy burps.

Also, you're supposed to eat something every time you take it.

I'm taking probably 6 a day and no problem with fish burps. They are one Nature Made in a green and yellow bottle.

Freeze your pills and take them with a glass of cold water.

I've been doing this for two months.

My wife takes one daily and gets fishy burps. Taking it with a meal does not seem to help. I take two and get nothing. Go figure.

I never want to get old.
2/11/2011 4:39:55 PM EDT

I use "NOW" brand and get no burps or whatever, I take three a day.

Freeze them. Works great, goes down before thawing.
No fishy burps.
2/11/2011 4:46:07 PM EDT

Careful with the flax seed oil guys- increases chances for prostrate cancer- stick with omega 3 oil only....

You don't ingest that stuff do you?  I use it as a "bait" for fishing and hunting.

I take them every day and don't have this problem.

This is subjective and anecdotal, but I started taking them on advice of my Optometrist, as he said I "won't always be young and greasy," and it seems as if my skin is oilier since I started, beginning about three days after the first one.  My contact lenses are comfortable, but they never got to be uncomfortable.

I was going to ask what kind give you fish burps.  Reminds me of my ex-wife.

I buy whatever the one they have at walmart in the big can.  I only seldom ever burp and taste them.

Recently I have started keeping them in the freezer.  Someone told me that after opening it is possible for them to get rancid since the shell is air permeable.  You don't want rancid stuff in your body, so he said to freeze it.  So far so good, and actually freezing them I believe makes the taste and aftertaste issue less of a problem.  YMMV

I'm pretty sure it helps with lubrication of joints, which is great for me seeing as I squat and deadlift often.

Hell at 4-6 grams per day sometimes my knees still feel creaky a day after the workout.
