The other thread is getting clogged. I set forth the motion to make this the Office DayZ Thread. People can come here for discussion, questions, game play questions, help starting up, posting videos that us awesome guys make, and everything related to the game. (Download available here: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads ) When you get there, if you do not know the password, provide a link to your AR15 account and message someone in chat. Verification of post count is the easiest to block out the trolls out there, however, this will not be the only thing. Most of us use FRAPS. Almost always at one point does someone have it up. If trolling/hacking/cheating occurs, its bound to be on the recording and we will ban you. This is not a threat, but a upfront warning. If you need help installing for the first time, or referencing on how to update beta/servers, please get information here at the official forums of DayZ. http://dayzmod.com/forum/ Someone is most likely always in the TS3 server so help can usually be found there. A general rule at the beginning was to play under your Arfcom tag. Any questions just contact one of us. |

I've been playing for about 2 weeks now. Am up to the point of pretty much being able to get anywhere on the map and get equipped pretty well, stay supplied and stay alive.
I have a nice little camping/hunting area picked out and if I need 'blood' I simply head there, hunt some game, light a fire and eat until I'm full health. If I need anything else, a few farms and a grocery aern't too far off. What server are you guys usually on? |

I get eaten every time I spawn.  its not full proof, but running into cover, or between building can help as long as you dont run face first into more of them, i usually run into the woods and try to dodge after some bushy trees, sometimes though there are no bushy trees... but once you can run between a 5-6 big trees , drop prone and crawl away, they usually get stuck right where u dropped, and look around a little , so if you dont move when you drop, chances are they will find you. sometimes they still see you. if you have a hatchet or a gun, its sometimes better to lure them to the woods or further from town to shoot them, if your gonna draw on herd of them onto you. though sometimes that makes you vulnerable to other players. crouch run, walk, and crawl help to keep you from getting spotted, but now and then they spot you from far away. barns, warehouses, and factories usually have hatchets and crossbows, the crossbow sucks i think, only killed one zed with multiple hits, and finding the bolts is really tough. maybe if they put a aimpoint or scope on it. cause it does not seem to work well with the sight it has. . i got killed a few more times, then i spawned in elektro right next to houses, and started looking for stuff. found a hatchet on a murdered player, and some ammo, then made a few trips to the supermarket and office building and got food and drink, a compass, map, and watch. and a tent. met a few friendly players that left me alone, and laid low while there was a gunfight or two sounded close to me, found a makarov in a house, and made it to the warehouse/tower building found a coyote pack, a akm, which i then found a mp5sd, was gonna take the akm to in the pack and heard gunfire pretty close. and i thought i finally got a good spawn and did not get shot right away, i better just go, as i had a bunch of stuff in the pack already. and was afraid id die trying to grab a second rifle. i made it to msta and then took fire right after i found a colt .45, i picked that up and started taking fire, and ran for the woods. it always starts the same, you hear a shot and wonder if your spotted. i think they are waiting for you to move to see if they shot you or not. i moved and pop pop pop. think it was 2 people chasing me again, as the distances sounded different as i ran, stopped to kill a zombie i was about to run in front of, and kept going, it was a steep downgrade into the treeline, and i got a bit in, and turned and waited for them, but they did not seem to follow me. later i made it to the other side and logged out where i had my friend waiting at, he was not playing at the time, but now when we play , we should spawn within a few feet of each other, and will get to talk to someone and easily work together. he has been missing his backpack for 2 weeks, it dropped while swimming. so hope to find him one soon. |

For now I'm just watching the videos. try playing a bit before you try to join up with others, the learning curve is a bit steep at first, but then it gets to second nature for most things. dont worry so much about dying the first few spawns, your trying to get the hang of it, and try to learn the aggro meter of the zombies, people are not gonna wanna help you, if you attract every zombie in sight. it gets spooky when you firt start out, its up to you working with other players, most will try to kill you. think im gonna have to hook my headset back up, trying to type before someone shoots you sucks. where a keypress and a few words might save you from being shot. might is the key word. treat everyone as a threat until they either act innocent or try to kill you and take your gear |

Hey could you just PM me the server name? I will get team speak so we can party chat but id really like to play with you guys. Right now i have an AKM with 5 mags and a Glock 17 with 4 mags and all the gear to live off the land.
I have a buddy from work that I play with and im sure he would love to join also. |

been attacked a few times, then keep running into people showing on map but cannot see them.
finally got some good guns after finding 5 tents stocked with stuff. made it to the airfield with my roomate, we crawled into the hangar and were looking around and all of the sudden from like 400 feet away i see running, i thought its a player but it was 2 zombies coming after us, no idea how it flagged as we were around the corner inside. they came in i dumped at least 15 rounds into both and they would not die, somehow they killed my roomate, and i got wounded pretty good and then the fucking server kicked me. i hate bullshit glitches. also both of us are getting some serious clipping and tearing anytime we are near a major city or military site. ive tried 3 drivers same issue, same for my roomate. it gets so bad you cannot see anything. |

I'm really, really freaking excited. I've also played the other game exclusively as a PK, so this game appeals to me. I guess it'll be a bandits life for me from the get go. I have TS, but I don't use it often. I'll probably look you guys up after I get a handle on the game, to see what y'all are doing. ETA - Got it installed, gonna rip into it now.  |

was able to recover most of what my friend lost minus a hunting knife and hatchet and entrenching tool.
all except 3 or 4 times that ive seen players they either try to kill me or have killed me. so if i run into them ill probably shoot first. im just not gonna go looking for the fight i am getting bad graphical errors near some of the major sites. 2 fixes i saw on youtube, one does nothing and the other im not able to get working, supposedly you can hit shift and numpad then type flush, but this did nothing for me unlike the video. the other was set video memory to normal which i had it on already. apparently this is a large issue, and it just started happening about 3 weeks ago, so im sure one of the updates broke the 3d somewhat. |

I had the same issue at a couple of the .mil sites. Couldn't see shit. Other than that, this game is brutal. It's literally raping me like the nub I am. I'm getting the hang of it though. Inventory system sucks, which is my only complaint. It's a lot of fun so far. |

It's a lot of fun so far. there is some good youtube vids of the inventory system, if your having issues. also if you cant pick up a bigger pack, move any items that are laying next to it, and then try again. the game inherited the wargames system, and for that game inv works well, for this one, its a bit messy but manageable. the biggest complaint i have is shit being deleted if you move something, either is should not let you, or it should drop to the ground instead, |

Hopefully this is one of the things that'll get fixed in an upcoming patch. pistols take 5 slots, rifles take ten slots, a tent is 3 slots i think, wood is 2, ammo cans is 2, i think a jerry can or tire are five but i cant exactly say. but yeah i agree it sucks it gets deleted. and pistol or rifle will take more if there is ammo for either of them. |

Yeah, I decided to read the Wiki finally. That cleared a lot up for me. I also got lucky, and ran into a hacker on a low pop server, spawned a couple of boxes full of everything, told me to take what I needed. So I got to play around for a bit with different items, and learn how to use the map/compass/GPS, etc. I'm sure I'll lose everything I took with me soon, but for now I can at least sustain for a few days outside of towns and get more familiar with the map. This game is addictive.

i had night vision for about a hour, before i died. but it was still daylight. fucking zombie got a lucky hit oh well, had a nice ak-74 kobra too. but that was a few spawns ago.
i did find the m4 silencer , grenade launcher eotech, but could not find ammo for the damn thing so i dropped it. |

Worth it to buy ARMA II for this.. or no? try the arma2 demo, then if you like that, imagine zombies covering the towns, and people hunting you at the same time. its permadeath, so get used to dying at first, and losing everything. im gonna try lingor if me and my friend get killed. i like the dayzcommander, it is much better than six launcher |

just picked up arma 2 today... and installed dayz... fuck all I do is die so far, haven't even found a hatchet yet. if anyone wanted to PM me the server details I would be much obliged... maybe I won't get killed so quickly... or you can murder me and steal my flashlight

played for about a hour today and got murdered.
me and my friend started at dawn while dark. made it to airfield since we were right next to it to try to find me a replacement weapon since i was almost out of ammo, ran out while clearing a a area, and got spotted while crawling. all i had left was the glock and i got swamped so my friend opened up with the ak, and then we were swarmed by about 30 of them, i called bug out and we got away, but got a little lost cause he did not follow me, i had to kill a straggler that spotted me, and i moved about 500 yards from there through the trees to meet up with him, and all of the sudden a minute after i met up with him, some cocksucker came out of the bushes and killed us. not sure if he was hiding or he found us. was 4 people on server when we started then 10 all of the sudden server was getting laggy making it tough to use map to follow each other. i think this asshole was hacking, as he came out of nowhere, and i had checked my six before going through trees. server had no nametags or other help markings. i mean someone could have heard all the gunfire, but to come to our exact spot so fast. had a lot of med supplies, but not much other goodies. lost a bison, glock, ak, and dmr and a tent. was one russian player listed with a vehicle, wonder if he drove to us like ive seen others reporting. oh well, maybe ill try your server |
