I just have to say that the entire household is down with the sickness--has been for days.  I'm missing work for the first time in years due to illness.  I'm not as bad as the others but FML, this thing is kicking the hell out of us.

Post here to vent or for ways to overcome/tolerate this stuff.

Seems like even folks who got the vaccine are still catch in the Flu. Get well soon.

It is a crap shoot, they (CDC) say this years vaccine is 60% effective which for them is a very good number. I remember last year the flu season was much worse and the vaccine was stated to be far less effective, just stating what I remember not sure how/if that correlates.

Assbag co-worker came back from vacation sick and contaminated the entire office. Took me the better part of a week to get rid of it, but it brought along a nasty case of bronchitis that I'm still trying to shake.

Drink LOTS of fluids, Tylenol and Advil to keep the fever down and ice packs in the armpits as needed. If a fever is getting out of control, seek medical attention.

The fevers and cold sweats really suck.  The wife and daughter have both been in to see the doctor.  They are pumped full of meds now.  I'm not as bad. Congested chest and sinuses.  The body aches and ear aches were really bad a couple of days ago.  A bit better now but still have a nagging cough.

Theraflu has been my friend, but that stuff burns me up and I break into sweats.

Just now recovering from it.  Had a temp of 103 at the onset and went to 104 for a bit before it broke.  Dealt with bronchitis and a sinus infection after that and was placed on antibiotics.  I missed 2 weeks of work.  I am on the mend now and getting my strength back.  Last time I had the flu was in 2007.  That one ended up with me having pneumonia.  I don't get the flu very often, but when it hits it hits hard and I usually end up with a secondary infection.  I hope the rest of you are doing well with yours.

ETA - stay the hell away from work if you have it, get lots of rest and fluids, do not return to work until you are well past the contagious phase.

February is peak flu season.

SHOT Show is a big vector in the gun industry.  All those nasty hands fiddling with optics, shouldering rifles near eyes, noses, and mouths, then shaking other people's hands.  Disgusting

I do things that are very proactive to make sure my family and I are protected against flu season.  I'll leave it at that.  We are asymptomatic, even with all the exposure to numerous human petri dishes.

I most likely got it at work. I'm a teacher so I get exposed to just about everything.  What I don't get exposed to there, my daughter brings home from her school or the wife brings home from bible study.  She got hit with the sinus and ear infection as well as the flu.  She struggles!

Thanks guys.
