Shits confusing me.   I work full time for a small biz. Heath insurance is not part of my compensation. I provide it for myself. What will happen under the new regs? Is the owner required to cover it? Will I have to purchase different insurance? Just wanting my ducks in a row.

Employers must provide health insurance or pay the fine but at this time it's cheaper to pay the fine then to provide premiums, so it's really up to your employer.
This is only going to affect small businesses that didn't provide it before the change. Fucking small business is one of Obama's specialtys.

edit: If you provide for yourself I don't think your employer should have to worry about it, but you will have to show proof at tax time or you will personally be fined.

Obamacare as a whole is essentially a new way to tax people, it fucks low income families that aren't on government assistance and small business.

Small businesses with less than 50 employees don't have to offer or provide insurance to their employees, this leaves the responsibility of purchasing mandatory healthcare insurance to the individual, or the individual must pay the mandatory tax, so much for free healthcare. This is going to be a major expense to anybody without insurance who has a job.

This.

I'm under the 50 employee amount, so I pay my guys a daily healthcare allowance for each paid day they work, and it's considered taxable wages. Kind of like a stipen to help them out, but also covers my ass if the man tries to retroactively f**k me over in the future.

As if company payroll tax share wasn't enough of a red hot poker...

NOT trying to pull this post off-topic but I was just reading an article on Obamacare an hour ago.   Boy, watch out in 2018 and beyond.....that's when those working for a company that provides a good insurance policy will get hit by a 40 percent tax on the portion of the policy above, I think, 8000 dollars per year paid by the company on their policy.   They referred to these as "cadillac policies."  I am not expert on this, but looks like another potential fuck job under Obamacare.

It's confusing for everyone.  Including employers.

Most of the changes won't be implemented until January 2014.  Here's a list by date.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act

If your income is ~$43k for an individual, or ~$88k for a family of
four (400% of the Federal poverty level), you'll be eligible for a federal tax credit/subsidy.

If your income is $200K+, you'll be hit with new taxes.

There will be new insurance exchanges available with bronze/silver/gold level coverages.  Most of the states are beginning to build these exchanges.

Bronze will have higher deductables, but the premiums will be lower.
