i was following a thread about muslims in europe and it just disappeared...not locked, didn't sink to the bottom, it's just GONE!
did it get moved or something? i know the mods will lock a thread but they don't out and out delete threads do they?

Depends how close to home it got.
The way to keep a thread on Islam going, is to participate in a big circle jerk. Remember, religion of peace, not all Muslims are like that, ignore that part of the Koran, etc.
