Does 2007 require the same elevation?  Just curious...and too lazy to pull out the vista drive for my laptop and find my install media.

when you're running it, no, it does not require elevation. The install process does, though

support.microsoft.com/kb/927386 and support.microsoft.com/kb/932246 have information. The second one has a download to address appcompat for Outlook 2003, but I don't know what exactly it addresses.
