I could tell dozens stories, but I will only tell the latest one. I ordered a Sous Vide machine from eBay during the 20% off sale. That shipment originated from Kentucky, which is give-or-take 200 miles from where I am sitting right now (home). Meanwhile, my Sous Vide machine apparently took a tour of Route 66 and is now enjoying a sunny day on the outskirts of Los Angeles. 
For those of you unfamiliar with geography, and those who believe West Virginia is just Western Virginia and you just LOVE the Roanoke area of "my" state, let's take a look at a map to see where my Sous Vide machine has been going in relation to the destination. 
Yep. Right now, it's over 2000 miles away from Almost Heaven, that completely grayed in part that's been a state since 1863. And it would only have had to cover 200 miles or so to get here. LOL. Of course, they're still not to the estimated arrival date yet. But, I can't help but think the more miles this thing logs in transit, the more likely that a ham-fisted cretin in a FedEx uniform will damage or destroy it. Should be interesting. Any bets on whether or not it makes it here by the 14th, and in one piece? EDIT: As of Wednesday morning, it's in Aurora UT. Just for fun, let's try to guess where it will show up next. I couldn't put every state between here and Utah, because quite frankly, it could be any of them. Or, it could be something totally different like Oregon or something. Or Canada. Or France. Or Mars. EDIT 2: FedEx responds on page 2! EDIT 3: Package checked in at 4:39 as "In Transit" from Burlington, CO. See update Pg 2. EDIT 4: FedEx, after shipping my package almost 4500 miles across the US and back, and after promising on TWO occasions this week that my package would be on time, finally concedes that randomly driving my package across ten states might cause a delay. Delivery date pushed back until tomorrow. EDIT 5: It arrived! Details on page 3! |

I hated on FedEx pretty hard when they lost the engagement ring I purchased from a place in Atlanta. But then I got someone on the phone who gave a shit. Some pretty extraordinary things happened and people went WAY above and beyond the call of duty to get the ring to me. So I don't bag on FedEx anymore. Except when I absolutely, positively need something and the rude cunt who is our regular driver doesn't show up to my office until 1630.

| Ordered a flash hider for an AR build I was working on. Lived in Florida at the time. Flash hider coming from Texas. USPS though, but with tracking. I watched it go across the US AND TO HAWAII. Where it showed "Out for delivery" for about 12 hours. Finally made its way to me about a week later. One well traveled damn arrestor! |

MORNING UPDATE: My worldly Sous Vide machine is now exploring the Canyonlands area of Utah. 
At this point, I ain't even mad. I'm jealous. It's been years since I've been out west. Driving nonstop, according to Google, it's gonna take 27 hours for it to get here. Do you think that FedEx is going to go nonstop? Poll added about which state you think it will appear in next. |

Especially considering that FedEx doesn't like to deliver after 1:00 around these parts (that's a whole other story that cost me three days of my life...lesson being, when FedEx delivers "signature required", pretty much better take off from work that day because you'll never get them nailed down within even a two hour window). Should be interesting! |
