Please take a moment to indicate which loads you are most interested in seeing tested in the next round of gel tests for the Arfcom YouTube channel. Please select all that you prefer, multiple choices are allowed. Next round will probably include four loads so the best option is to select your four favorite. Please indicate barrel length preference in a comment. Available barrel lengths are:
.223/5.56mm: 10.5", 11.5", 14.5", 16", 18", 20" .300 AAC: 8" 7.62x39mm: 16", 20" |
|
Since my new go to gun is a Galil ACE in 7.62x39 with an 8.3" barrel I would love to see the Hornady Black in a short barrel.
|
|
Sorry, but I don't have access to a short 7.62x39mm barrel. Best I can do is 16".
|
|
|
I'd like to see the 62 grain BTHP out of a 16" or a 77 grain smk out of the same.

|
Hornady .223 73gr FTX Critical Defense through 10.5" and 16" barrels pretty please.

I have no idea what any of those numbers/letters in the poll options mean. How about some 55gr FMJ Wolf Gold? ...
...Review any/all of them and I'll watch. They are all interesting regardless |
|
73gr Hornady Critical Defense plz! You would be the first, as i can't find any other tests anywhere. Out of a 16inch and 10inch barrel if possible.

Yup. Out of a 16" and a 10.5 inch upper at 5 and 20 yards to simulate home defense at close range, and then area defense in a SHTF scenario. Velocities and gel performance would be awesome to see. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I've a fair amount of experience with TSX's and believe I can predict the performance, but I voted for it anyway.
Spread the TSX message, by all means. |

I'm going to go outside the realm of factory loaded ammo and suggest the .224 65gr Sierra SBT Gameking. I think this is a highly over looked pill for the 5.56 guns, it's readily available in bulk for re-loaders and is suited to handle a number of jobs out there.
A few others I would like to see are: .224 69gr Sierra TMK .224 77gr Sierra TMK .224 77gr Berger OTM Tactical |

I know it's not on the list but the new Hornady 300blk sub-x 190 out of a 10.5 would be the bee's knee's.

Brassfetcher did extensive testing on the 125 TNT when 300 blk first came out. Not hard to find the PDF, can't imagine the results would be much different for this factory ammo unless it's moving a lot faster. It's a very effective choice FWIW.

shot the gorilla .300aac but it was in a surpressed rifle so if most like was a higher grain than that. thx for the videos

I voted for the Hornady Critical Defense but the 55gr FTX is what I really want to see. Just got some and I have yet to see anyone doing any gel tests on it yet. So if you can, that would be the one I would really like to see. https://d3gxe0jmvtuxbc.cloudfront.net/images/Product/large/80028.jpg Second choice for a future test would be Fiocchi Extrema Ammunition 223 Remington 50 Grain Hornady V-MAX Ammunition https://media.mwstatic.com/product-images/880x660/Primary/312/312291.jpg View Quote |

Black Hills 5.56 50gr Optimized from a 10.X" barrel or shorter.

Hi Andrew,
In true ArfCom fashion...do ALL the bulletz! Seriously, I voted for the 125 TNT load because I have been a fan of this caliber since I built my first .300 Whisper AR back in the olden days (2005). Any of them would be most excellent, keep up the great work. I subbed the Arf YouTube channel because of your presentations. Now if I could only get my crappy ARs to cycle steel-cased ammo. Keep The High Ground, G |

Winchester 64 gr Powerpoint. NOT the LEO version, the deer ammo...

|
Don't know how i missed this. I'm local to you and an SOT. I'll be able to get or make any short barrel weapon you need for testing whenever we can find a common weekend to shoot.
I'll be dropping the 6.5 ammo by for iwouldntknow. |
