Someone posted a new video player that fixes a problem when you only hear sound from an MPG player. It was named something like divix, but that is not it. Where was this available for download?

Thanks,

Bob

Sounds like you need the Divx codec.

Did you try it, or you just couldn't find it?

I had that problem on a lot of porn clips that I downloaded, especially avi files.
Sound, but no video.
By looking at the properties of whatever clip that doesn't play correctly, you should be able to determine what codex is used.

Then go to this site and search for the right codex.

How old is your OS & vid player? You may need the newer versions of both the OS & vid player. If you're using MS Media Player and you're on the internet, the system will try to download the correct CODEC for you. My wife has a Compaq laptop running a real old version of Windows NT4 and the correct version MS Media Player for that version of NT4; but all it does is playback the sound. I can play both the video & and sound on my newer Windows XP machine with no problems.

CODEC = COder DECoder

It's a 'driver' for a specific media format that plugs into your player...

it's not a player of it's own right...

It is the Divx player that uses a new CODEC.
