I live in a town with no noise ordinance. My neighbor constantly plays loud music with bass that can be heard over 1/2 mile down the road. They also rev their vehicle engines and drive their ATV through their yard at all hours of the night (anywhere from 11pm to 4am). I have called the police and they said there is nothing they can do since there isn't a noise ordinance. I've also spoke with the neighbor about it and the grandmother (the owner of the house) denies that her grandson (the kid lives there and makes all the noise) is making any noise, etc.
At this point I haven't had more than 3-4 hours (if I'm lucky) per night for the past 2 weeks and it is starting to affect my work productivity as well as my energy levels through the day, etc. Is there anything I can do legally (in terms of some type of lawsuit) to put an end to this or sue for damages related to health, etc. I feel like shit everyday because I'm going all day with 3-4 hours of sleep and it is taking a toll on me mentally and physically. |

Remember this, it's a free country...cops have said he is gtg...so I would "respectfully" ask him to tone it down (let him know your not getting any sleep). Short of that....you might have to either move or invest in some sound deading material for your bed room. Try the ear plugs if the talk doesn't work. I know what you are talking about with not getting any sleep. Good luck! Now....if that SOB doesn't come around...go buy the biggest speakers you've can afford and point them at their house.....BLAST THOSE BASTARDS while you are at work...SO THAT SH*THEAD doesn't get any sleep during the day. 
P.S....make sure its the SAME DAM SONG ON LOOP

Please seek legal advise before doing this I've already spoke with the loser and he won't turn it down. He just spent 3 years in jail (from the age of 14-17) and just got out 8 months ago. Speakers are what it looks like it might be. |
| Starting a war with this kid is a dumb idea. An eighteen year old kid fresh out of prison has nothing to lose, but you do. Buy ear plugs, or maybe even the Bose noise cancelling headphones, and wait him out. I can't imagine that the kid will stay free for long, and it is only a matter of time before he is back in prison, and you have peace and quiet again. |

Set up surveillance cameras...record license plate #s of his friends.
Eventually he'll screw up and you can call the police with more than a noise complaint. We had a dipstick like that down the street in a rental...he smoked weed laced with formaldehyde. Now he stumbles around and spends his time twitching. |
