My wife indicated an interest in getting into archery.  Not for hunting, just for the fun of shooting.  She did it MANY years ago as a young teen.

Any advice for me?  I want to surprise her with a decent, but not expensive, compound bow and some arrows for target shooting.  She is about 5'2", has some (but not massive) strength, but a bum right elbow.  I don't need anything incredibly strong, since this will just be for target shooting.

Best advice?

Get off the internet, go to every pro shop around, and LISTEN before you buy.

There's a shop near my house. The guy that owns it, his wife is there a lot, and she's a great shot, very knowledgeable, freindly, and you'd do well to find a shop that has a woman on staff to help you buy your stuff.
