My in-laws are staying with my family and I for a few weeks.

I can't remember what my router password is. Is there any way I can retrieve the password or find out what it is?

If you haven't changed it from the default, you should be able to look that up online.

If you did change it, there's always a way to reset it to the default - Inconspicuous button, little switch, or a jumper inside of the case that can be shorted out.

What kind of router is it?

What version of op sys on the computer? My XP version allows me to view my password by unhiding the code.
