Well, my grandma (dad's mom), went in for stomach surgery last friday, removing some cancer, actually fairly minor in all actuality

Well, got a call bout 6 hrs ago, her kidneys shut down.  12 hrs max, she is not expected to make it to breakfast.  Dad is the oldest of 3 boys, and they were all recalled to Victoria Texas.  Dad just landed about 15 min ago

Please pray for my grandma and my family

thankyou

I hope you're doing ok, and if it helps, like DrFrige said the estimates aren't always right, of course.  I just realized I was never supposed to meet my grandfather according to the doctors that told him he had six months to live in 1972.

I have to look at her descision with respect

her cancer was found shortly after the kidney shut down to have spread to her lymphatic system

it was easier to name the joints that werent arthritic

she was a very proud woman

and for the past 2 years she has been in assisted living, not able to go to the john without help.

her husband (Japanese ace in WWII) died in 79, and most of her friends are gone

Now she knows no pain, and she is with thoes she missed

her lasting this long was a miricale

I dont blame her for refusing treatment to extend life
go with God grandma

Hang in there BE.  Grandma's are very special.  I lost mine in 1992 and a day doesn't pass that I don't think of her.  With that said, most often than not those thoughts are with a smile.

BE, my condolences to you and your family. I'm sure she was a grand lady.

As you said, she's at peace, without pain and with the ones she misses now.

You know, you're so right patty. I lost mine in 1976. You're post made me think of her all over again. I really do miss her even after 29 yrs.

Sorry to hear this man.

I am still numb from losing my Grams back in June. We just cleaned out their condo this past weekend. Talk about one of the hardest things I've ever done.

Everything was just like it was the day she died. Her coffee mug was sitting on the counter waiting for her morning coffee.
