I'm highly pissed!!!

Friday I accidently clicked on a Hotbar ad, and began downloading a bunch of shit!  I tried to stop the download, but it wouldn't respond.  I was able to delete most of it, but there are still some Program Files and Documents that I can't get rid of.  I send them to the Recycle Bin, delete them from the Bin, and they just reappear.  Or I get the Access Denied or Disc Space Full messages when I try to delete them.

I sent an email to Hotbar - they responded by sending me an email with no body, but a HUGE attachment.  Which of course I deleted unread.

Any ideas?  Thanks, guys.

THIS BULLSHIT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!

Run a scan and select all the found porblems and delete. Reboot in neccesary.

Yep, it should be illegal, I did that my self, accidently and got all these dataminers etc. The browser should ask you if you want download this stuff, like yes/no/cancel. Definitely run Spy-bot, Ad-aware, and whatever virus killer you got.

Whole bunch of spyware killers here.

Usually deleting them isn't enough and you have to go into the Windows registry (regedit.exe) to delete the keys. There were times I found stuff in the registry that shouldn't have been there and the Spyware software didn't detect it.

Get a copy of Ad-Aware as well as Search & Destroy. Both are freeware you can find at various sites on the Net. Download & install both, then run the update option while online to make sure you have the latest definitions. Then run both, one after the other. S&D seems to catch stuff that Ad-Aware missed.
Both are great tools to have.

Thanks guys.  I've calmed down, there are no bullet holes in the monitor, and I'll check out the advice and links.
