Hey all, So I'll be doing a sweet stout recipe, and I picked up some nibs, 40oz worth. Pretty much everything I'm seeing on line advises to do a tincture with vodka a week prior or so, and put the tincture in a secondary. However, I don't secondary anything.. primary fermentation in an all rounder, cold crash, then transfer o2 free to a corny. Any reason I can't put the tincture in my keg, purge it, then transfer? Thx! |

Thx! What I would likely do is closed transfer to liquid purged keg, then pop the top for just a second, add tincture, close it, purge the tiny remaining headspace a few times.... I think this would result in less potential oxidation purging a smaller headspace. |
