I performed a search without much luck.

Is it worth it to buy a couple lowers labeled "cal-multi" in case I might want to build an upper in another caliber some day in the future? Is it illegal to install an upper of a different caliber on a lower marked 5.56mm?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Perfectly legal to put a non 5.56 upper on a 5.56 marked lower.
