Why does everyone like the remington 870 better than the mossberg 500?

I love my 590 wouldn't trade it for an 870 at all

I have a 590A1. I like it much better than the 870. One of the main reasons being able to feed it shells quickly. The 870 has a flat shell follower that gets in my way for fast reloads the 590s is recessed. The 590A1 has also a much more solid feel to it. Plus it was designed for the Marines, it has to be tough !

I have a 590 too...I like it but it is a pig of a shotgun...with the 20inch bbl, full loaded mag tube, 4 rounds in the speedfeed stock, 6 rounds in the sidesaddle.....

I like both but the 590 is lighter.
