Purchased an HP, quad core AMD, WinBlows 7 home premium, a few months ago.
Today I noticed that when I am on I-Net, that there is a 3\4 inch or so 'gap' on the top of my 20 inch lcd monitor, I can see the top of my desk top pic there.
Ran all the usual scans to no avail.
Did not download any pgms. or updates.
Resolution and all is set correctly.
Any Ideas?
Thank You.

Maybe I am missing something there, but can you not drag the top of the window up to fill the area in question and finish up by dragging the lower back to the bottom of the monitor if necessary?

Thanks, but does not change a thing.

Sorry, not the best photo.
You can see a few desk top icons on top left of monitor, and dark area on the entire top border.

If I'm remembering right: Go to control panel > Window Color & Appearance > and then uncheck the Transparency box.

Do not have that option on control panel.
Thanks.

Does your monitor have an "Auto Adjust" or "Display Reset" or similar option?

That gap is wasted space courtesy of IE and is transparent because of your settings. Simply dropping IE for a decent browser will make it go away.

Just happened the other day.
That is what is making me

That's just Internet Explorer and the transparency effect.

Eliminated being able to see the desktop, still have the gap there, as posted, new PC, do not think it was always like that
