We have a lot of new faces here, and some highly visible moderators in most of the forums. It would be interesting to see a brief curriculum vitae from each moderator outlining their approximate age, backgound, profession, interests, etc. I find that it makes for a more comfortable and credible atmosphere it you can add a somewhat "personal" touch. What do you say? [:)] |

AGE I'm Older than Kuiper, but Younger than EdSr (go figure!) OCCUPATION Senior Developer and more! HOBBIES Anything and everything. You name it, I probably am into it or was into it. I love sports, pcs (gaming and development), drinking (*BURP*), women, and animals (if it gets cold enough). LIKES I like people with conviction and ideas. While I moderate the hell out of the forums, I like people who are willing to throw out their thoughts and opinions and back them up with fact. I'm a little on the edge and like to push things as far as possible in all aspects of life. DISLIKES I don't like racists, people with no honor, and bullies. People who abuse or take advantage of others should have their asses kicked. POLITICS I want to see some laws made which make sense in this country. Criminals should be treated as such, while honest hard working people should be helped when needed. If our jails were empty, we could clean them up and make homeless shelters to help people get on their feet. A warm place to sleep, 3 meals a day, a library, PCs, etc... pity you need to kill someone to get that kind of treatment. RELIGION I believe in the things I can see, taste, touch, or rationalize. WOMEN I like a pulse. [=)][=)][=)][=)][=)] (Just KIDDING!!!) There ya go, a little bit too much info for ya! -- GB |

I'm a 41 year old Senior Chief Petty Officer with 20 years in the US Navy. I'm a television broadcast engineer with extensive computer networking experence. I've been shooting for more than 25 years everything from .22LR up to .308. I have about a dozen pistols and a dozen rifles half of which are AR's. I like target shooting but my primary interest tends to be "social" rifles. Hobbies: I'm into guns (duhh) - a bit of smithing on my own stuff, photography - 35mm and digital, computers - built my last four which are all laying around hooked up to my home area network, music - huge stereo system I bought while stationed in Japan (enjoy Genesis, Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd), video - DVD, 4 camcorders (Action, adventure, comedy, "guy movies"), use to do muscle cars ('73 'cuda) but gave it up after moving around every three years. Internet: Been on the AR15L for about four or five years, here on the forums since day one or two. Turn-ons - tall blonde women with nice smiles and tight behinds who know their way around a network routing table, big bore rifles and a meat lovers pizza. Turn-offs - Guys who have to be the center of attention always, erectile disfunction, and STD's. |

I'm 30 years old, I'm newly engaged to my longtime girlfriend (I proposed last Saturday[:)]), I'm a new resident of Arizona after spending my whole life in California. I've been a member here since roughly August of 1999, and I lurked here for a while previously. I haven't been a moderator very long, and I like to think that I'm fair with my responsibilities here. For a living I work with High-end audio equipment, fabricating extreme car stereo systems for competition and demonstration vehicles. I've been doing this for at least 12 years as a job, but I've also done other things during that time (like private security for a feature dancer, hosting a few Hollywood night clubs, and generally getting paid to have a good time). The stereo business pays my bills, but it's not quite the same passion I had years ago. I sometimes wish there was something else I was good at that would make me some money, so I could return the stereo thing to a hobby. My interests include shooting, of course, but probably even more than shooting, I like tinkering and building things. That's probably why I like the mechanics of firearms so much, and like customizing and upgrading my weapons. I've been strongly intrigued by guns as long as I can remember, since I was a small child. And I used to be afraid of mannequins. Not anymore. [;)] -Cory, Moderator of General Discussion |

AHHH, 'Cmon G&B, Don't stop because of a couple of posts. _McUZI, Thanks for the compliments. Sometimes I really don't know how to deal with you. On one hand, my chosen profession won't allow me to NOT teach you....On the other hand, I have thought about getting myself kicked off this site by telling you what I think about you and your antics. But, you have heard about all the insults, and taken the lava baths...and still manage to start crap....lots of crap. Turn away from the dark side McLuke. I believe if you put as much energy into shooting as you do trying to get attention, I, and all of the rest of the shooters here would have a difficult time keeping up with you. Lew[smash] |
