Do you support the "militarization" of the police inside the USA?
Wait for the poll to be posted. |

I support everyone have access to the same stuff so that balance remains. And you do. Want a tank? Go buy it. Want an m16? Go buy it (but then again, how many cops really own full auto?). Want an MRAP or an APC? Go buy one like I did. Want a Humvee? GO buy one... |

So cops shouldnt have it cause the poor cant afford and thats discriminatory. |

Want an MRAP or an APC? Go buy one like I did. Want a Humvee? GO buy one... Can I buy what the police have? Can everyone compete with the police on price? Are civilians allowed to bid on surplus MRAPs and Humvees on GL? Why are special provisions given to the police? Why is the government giving the police the same stuff that I can't have? |
|
Cops are civilians who can own full auto, SBRs, suppressors & get them at a reasonable cost & without a Form 1 or 4. Oh yea, with tax dollars. It's hard for an average citizen to buy an MRAP or comparable equipment when these "tools" are "donated" by our .gov or obtained well-under MSRP & previously paid for with tax dollars. But, to be honest, I've encountered enough elitist "us against them" entitled cops....I'm biased.
What's more disturbing is the mentality that these police aren't held liable for the actions. Has anyone in the SWAT team that dropped a flash-bang in a crib last month been charged? Never will be. What's even more amazing is that our politicians support this nonsense & is funded with--our tax dollars. Yay! |

| The training of many US LEO concerns me. I was onboard with better weapons/tactics for the police after he 1986 Miami Shootout, but many LEA have gone full derp and been given many special privileges to have mil equipment without mil regs and training. Shoot and ask question later is a common mentality. Chances are if the police shoot you, you will have many holes in you and I'm not certain you will be given a fair investigation. Call me old fashion, but I believe they should justify a shooting just as any citizen. Sure they deal with some real shit heads and will likely encounter those situations more than the average citizen, but the use of lethal force should be the same......it's not, many PDs will lie for a troubled badge, many bullies are attracted to this special class of people. Enforce high standards, discipline bad behavior and have thick skin and the average citizen will have a favorable view of the police. FWIW one of my LEO buddies had to kill a vet last year, it really bothered him and I fully understand that you may have a real shit sandwich to deal with, but that is what I can respect about you. Those that live up to "protect and serve" and know when force is too much are what the police need....."prepared for combat" as seen on some police assets is stupid, not for America. |

Are you blind? Do i need to post pics of cops with lace up boots, cargo pants and flat top hair cuts. That shit scary! Quoted:

You really need some real world experience about police shootings instead of watching Heat, TJ Hooker, and stuff like Training Day before you make such sweeping generalizations about the process in departments. How do you feel about the prepper mindset or any kind of defensive or weapons training courses in the gun community since a "combat mindset" bothers you so badly. Do you feel they are also "not for America" also? |

Can I buy what the police have? I saw a Tempest, the British equivelant of our Cougar, on Witham's. Can everyone compete with the police on price? Nope. Are civilians allowed to bid on surplus MRAPs and Humvees on GL? Nope, neither are PDs or military personnel. They don't sell Mraps or humvees on GL. Why are special provisions given to the police? Because they're not Hondaciv, that's why. Why is the government giving the police the same stuff that I can't have? Quoted:
