Arguably, he had made it. There are few trial attorneys with judgments in the millions of dollars, far fewer much have judgments in the hundreds of millions. The median attorney salary is 119,000. citation The structure of a service salary necessarily limits the possible return. Avenatti knew this and that's why he tried the coffee company. He failed. Then, he compounded his failure by throwing good money after bad. For most of us, this money would consist of personal assets, loans, extensions of credit, or new outside investment. Instead, it appears he defrauded the IRS and stole client funds. This is unforgivable and a normal man would lose his license and do time.

His arrogance and greed were his undoing.

He was trying to live the "rich person" lifestyle because he understood that contact were everything, whether in law or any other business.  So he funded a false image by stealing from clients and the IRS.  That was the fake it part.  The make it part he never reached.  The make it part would be if he had made enough money that he could settle or quietly pay off all the people he ripped off.  That's where the $15-25 million shake-down effort at Nike came in, same with the Trump fiasco.  He knew the walls were closing in and was making some last, desperate gambles to get enough to pay people back.  I also think that's what was behind his Presidential "run."  Make it politically delicate to arrest him and hope that bought some more time.

Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos raged against CNN and threatened to tell all after the network dropped him in light of his alleged involvement in the Nike extortion plot.

On Tuesday, the network announced it was parting ways with the longtime legal contributor.

“God forbid that I start telling some of the stories for how I’ve covered for that lame-ass organization,” Geragos railed on “The Adam Carolla Show” on Tuesday.

...

Geragos — who represented Michael Jackson and whose current clients include Jussie Smollett and Seagram’s heiress Clare Bronfman in the Nxivm sex cult case — claims he’d been a CNN contributor for two decades.

“They ought to change their name to the ‘Cut and Run Network,’” Geragos told Carolla. “I’ve been texted by all of their anchors who are as outraged as I am that after 20 years, a press conference is enough to have them immediately want to disassociate themselves.”

The AUSA should contact him & tell him he can have immunity if he turns over some bigger fish at CNN (& he surrenders his law license).

Avenatti has turned his twatter back on.

Attacking EVERYONE

Check out his child support. Someone must have fronted him some big bucks in Feb to get current.

$162,295 a month? Is that what he has to pay or is that total with arrears?

No Avenatti fan at all but $162,295 a month child support is beyond stupid.

No that's what he was behind in. He probably transferred money from a hidden account or sold some luxury items to avoid going to jail, and him bragging about his child support payments does nothing for his credibility.

He used the money that was stolen from everyone else to pay it - he still owes other people millions.
He probably has millions more squirreled away in overseas accounts.

He's done.

Michael Avenatti is hit with a 36-count federal indictment for 'tax fraud and stealing from clients including a paraplegic man whose $4million settlement he hid and spent on himself

Avenatti, 48, was hit with the new charges on Thursday in federal prosecutors

They include claims he stole from five clients' settlements by telling them he had not received them and spending the money himself

He also allegedly dodged paying taxes for years and stole money from employees' paychecks which he claimed was going to the IRS for tax

Avenatti is also accused of perjuring himself by lying during a 2017 and 2018 bankruptcy case for his law firm

If convicted on all 36 counts, he will spend the rest of his life behind bars'

A U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman, Thom Mrozek, confirmed to Fox News that federal agents seized a Honda HA-420 twin-engine jet from Santa Barbara Airport about 10 a.m. after a federal judge issued a warrant.

The plane was originally scheduled to be flown Wednesday to Orange County on Avenatti's behalf, but pilots had to file a new flight plan to San Bernardino County.

“Federal authorities have seized a jet co-owned by Mr. Avenatti pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by a federal judge. This seizure is related to the pending criminal case in Los Angeles,” a federal official told Fox News.

Avenatti told Fox News on Wednesday: “I haven’t used the plane in almost a year and I gave up my interest last year. I have no interest in the plane and could care less.”

Don't be too happy. This is probably just liberals policing one of their own and putting him in his place for going after the all holy Nike.

They are threatening all this time in prison but sit back and watch and you will likely see he gets a short time in one of the better federal prisons.
