Those Mac commercials make me laugh.  You'd still have to pay me to use one, but the commercials are funny.

I'm with ya on that. I don't know how they can advertise that claim. We used macs in college  (Graphic Design Major) The G4 was the newest whiz bang mac. All the old powermacs had had their hard drives renamed with very accurate titles such as: Big Crash, Crashdaddy, Crash-O-Matic....etc.

The G4s worked well for about 6 weeks, the first one to crash regularly caused much distress and anguish, then two got infected. The last one began crashing on a regular basis shortly there after. All of the school's IT folks refused to have anything to do with the macs. Mac's tech support only recourse was to have the G4s returned to them for repair.

That's not really what bothers me about macs and mac advertising. what bothers me is when a mac crashes, this window pops up and states: it's not my fault, a critical system error....blah blah blah.

it's not your fault?

I'm not a computer

it can't be my fault you just decided to quit doing what you were just doing and restart.

I guess the 'it's not my fault' claim is understood by the average mac user, who follow several stereotypes (not always, but more often that not) to include avoiding responsibility for their actions and be a victim.

damn granola munching macs

I guess that I'm just not "cool" enough to be a mac...

Mac's are for people who are more concerned with what color their computer case is and if it matches their home or office decor than they are concerned with what it will do. Good for rich AOL users.

Their Commercials have nothing of substance, just retarded gimmicks.

About as stupid as those 'I'm too much of an idiot to use a PC/Make the switch' commercials. Perfect for their target niche.

System 8-9 days, it never printed "it's not my fault", it was an optional error "tone". Instead of a beep or boink you could optionally select the computer to say "it's not my fault" whenever an error popped up. Mine said, "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" quote from 2001.

Actually Mac's are for people who really care what their computer is capable of doing.

The only reason Arfcom doesn't like Mac's is that for some reason the stigma of hippies and liberals some how became associated with using them.

It's insanely overpriced PC hardware with OSX and a picture of fruit on the case.

Because Apple only has a tiny share of the market.

Because it's hard to pirate a console game and is where most of the sales are.

+1.
buying a mac is like paying $1000-$2500 for a basic computer when you could have just bought a basic PC with similar specs from Dell, or whoever, for under $500.  mac is fail.
