Ok, Mrs. NMSight has been telling me that the van has an occasional starting problem. 1990 Aerostar w/4.0 L. Never would do it for me until last Saturday when we were leaving Freddy's after shopping. Hit the key, starter engaged ok but then engine died. Did this several times. Smelled like gas so I am assuming it may be an electrical problem? Also at the same time the ABS warning light came on. It finally started and we got home. She said it has been doing this off and on. Usually after it is driven a while, stopped and restarted. I tried several times after we got home and it always started just fine. How come they quit making cars NMSight |
Just take it to the dealership. I'm sure it's something small, like the mass air flow meter or o2 sensor or something. The EFI in Aerostars was problematic in the early 90's. |
