I'm in the market for a k98 and was wondering what you guys think of this deal. Should I jump on it?

From the listing "A 243 coded K98 Mauser. This rifle is in great condition and is a very good shooter. It does not have matching parts but it does have all of its original waffenamps. The rifle comes with a sight hood, cleaning rod, sling, bayonet and frog, 20 rounds of 8mm with stripper clips, post war ammo pouch, and a original cleaning kit." He said he'd do 500 and sent me some more pictures

So school me on why I should/shouldn't purchase this.

Just remember that 8mm surplus is long gone, unfortunately.

Typical Russian Capture mixmaster.  The "X" on the top of the receiver ring was the Russian version of crossed rifles.

Looks to be in good shape.  I wouldn't go over $300.  And ammo is still out there.  Wideners email had Romanian in stock last week.

I know nothing about Mausers, but Gander Mtn had a bunch of ones from Century Arms for $349 when I was in there Saturday.

Ok so $300 for the whole package or just the rifle? What do you think the extras are worth?

Parts gun, laminated stock.  I agree with the other guys, $300 tops. That includes the bayonet, I'd pass on the ammo.
