You are two times more likely to be murdered by somebodys bare hands than by any sort of rifle.

You are one hundred times more likely to die in a car accident than by any sort of rifle.

...Yet they want to ban semi-auto "assault" rifles

Tens of millions of legally owned semi-auto rifles will be banned because of +/- 30 deaths per year.

What year was this for?

LOL at car deaths is almost equal to the number of murders total.

Automobile Fatalities in America 201,132,367

Total Murders in America 201,112,626
Total firearms murders 8,552

You can't fight back with a car as easily.  Fear in their hearts.

Got in to it with a coworker who thought it was crazy that law abiding citizens could CCW. Worried that minor fender benders causes shootings, blablabla.

So, we ran the numbers from the internet  using anti-gun website-here you go:
Per: VPC there were 499 people killed by CCW holders from May 07-Nov 12. That is 67 months or 5.58 years, at 499 people averages to 89.4 people a year. Let’s round up to a whole person. CCW holders kill on average 90 people a year.
There are 311,000,000 in the US. In 2007, there were 300,000,000 so we’ll average down to 300,000,000 for the entire time. At 90 people a year with 300,000,000 in the US, the odds of dying by a law abiding, legal, CCW holder due to getting in a confrontation over a fender bender is: 0.000003 or 0.0003%/year.
We then hit up google and asked what are your odds of dying… http://www.purewatergazette.net/oddsofdying.htm

That's my math for the day....

OK that makes more sense.

Census.gov?

I found a scary table of the top causes of death for my age group.

15 TO 24 YEARS
 All causes  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  . 33,982 79 .9
Accidents (unintentional injuries) . . . . . . . 15,897 37.4
Assault (homicide) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5,551 13.1
Intentional self-harm (suicide) . . . . . . . . . 4,140 9.7

It seems very close.

You'll need to link all the sources because liberals love just yelling, "SOURCES!" when they have no argument.

But still.  It showcases the absurdity of the issue.

Most of that is from the FBI database I would assume.

But doesn't the FBI deal with crime not natural deaths?
I think it's from census.gov
