Got in to it with a coworker who thought it was crazy that law abiding citizens could CCW. Worried that minor fender benders causes shootings, blablabla.
So, we ran the numbers from the internet using anti-gun website-here you go: Per: VPC there were 499 people killed by CCW holders from May 07-Nov 12. That is 67 months or 5.58 years, at 499 people averages to 89.4 people a year. Let’s round up to a whole person. CCW holders kill on average 90 people a year. There are 311,000,000 in the US. In 2007, there were 300,000,000 so we’ll average down to 300,000,000 for the entire time. At 90 people a year with 300,000,000 in the US, the odds of dying by a law abiding, legal, CCW holder due to getting in a confrontation over a fender bender is: 0.000003 or 0.0003%/year. We then hit up google and asked what are your odds of dying… http://www.purewatergazette.net/oddsofdying.htm That's my math for the day.... |

Quoted:
