Police went looking for a guy accused of pointing a gun at people (pretty vague). When they found him he drove a vehicle into a police car, fired on officers and a police helicopter and escaped.

sounds Like he broke into a random house, killed a woman who lived there and then fled into the area , which sounds like steep wilderness
