The rollout of the new style has been pretty rough, and I thought I'd do what I could to help - both @goatboy and my fellow users. I'm working on a user stylesheet that will improve the site as best I can.
You can find the current version of my site stylesheet on GitHub: lyndsysimon/ar15.com-stylesheet Before you install it, be aware - the site layout is in flux right now, and Goatboy's changes could (and likely will) break my changes. Do not, under any circumstances, complain to site staff if you're using this stylesheet and your layout is fucked up somehow. I'll do my best to continually update it and am happy to take suggestions, so by all means go back and get the latest version on a regular basis, but in the end remember that this is one nerd's attempt to make a website run by someone else more readable to him. In other words, I'm a developer but I'm not your developer.

| One more thing - @goatboy, by all means feel free to copy/paste some of these styles if you find it helpful. I've made sure to comment each rule as to its purpose for your benefit. The repo they're in is labeled as GPLv3, but if you need me to grant you rights to it formally I'm happy to do so. |
Needs a bunch more vertical compression in the avatar area:
Online status can be indicated with a green or red dot to the right of username post/feedback can be same row Member and location can be same row mil/industry/NRA/etc icons can go under location link to post can go to nav bar below post (to the right of report) This loose and messy avatar/member area is the biggest barrier to overall usability |

I've already got "posts" and "feedback" on one row. The next row is "link to post" and "status". I think I can get rid of "Team member" entirely, actually; I can then put join date and location on one row and seriously shrink that section. One sec. |
