I just got a new laptop this weekend to replace my old one. I had an activated copy of Office on it. Can I transfer the product key over to my new laptop with MS Office Suite?

I doubt that activation would work if it's one of the newer versions which require it.
The key itself will probably allow for installation, but after the grace period is over, it's probably done.

did office come with the old laptop as part of its installation? if so then no. If it was a separate package that you bought and installed afterwards then you should be fine

Call Microsoft and ask, or go to their site and search for the answer. Simple.
